I’m overall happy with the yield from this particular cucumber strain. The Straight Eight gives you a nice 8 inch slicing cucumber. Great for both garden salads and eating with a little salt and pepper. A perfect addition to your Northern garden.
The straight 8 is very easy to grow and is a crawling plant but also can climb with assistance, or hang as well. I always suggest growing it on a clean surface not just dirt but it can be grown on dirt without much issue. Hard rain falls can damper the plant but it bounces back just fine.
Its best to harvest the straight eight cucumber when it is 7 to 8 inches, anything larger and you will find yourself with a lot of seeds, and undesirable thick skin. The plant requires a full sun location for best results.
